Central Office Technician
This position with Citizens Connected will be responsible for the daily switching and routing of telecommunications equipment. Additional responsibilities may include installing, repairing, and maintaining telecommunications equipment, as well as, interacting with other staff, customers, and vendors as necessary. Testing and troubleshooting skills are a requirement along with basic routing and IP knowledge.
Citizens Connected provides 24/7 network support and this position will require on-call services as needed for network issues, after hours maintenance, and general troubleshooting needs with other vendors. Daily activities include answering and responding to customer and staff calls regarding service orders, trouble tickets and general service information. Provides basic technical support to customers and staff and performs basic digital switch troubleshooting.
Additional preferred skills include knowledge of security, advanced IP routing and switching, SIP and VoIP protocols.
The preferred candidate will have prior experience with the following equipment vendors: Ribbon, Juniper, and Calix.
