IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) Technician

 

 

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) Technician to join our dynamic team. As an MSP Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality IT services to our clients. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the success of our clients' IT infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Client Support
    • Provide proactive and reactive technical support to clients, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
    • Respond to service requests, incidents, and inquiries, and escalate when necessary to meet SLA commitments.
    • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and resolve issues on various IT systems.
  2. Network and Infrastructure Management
    • Monitor and maintain client networks, servers, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Implement and manage security measures to safeguard client data and systems.
    • Conduct regular system audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  3. Technical Consultation
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their IT needs and provide expert advice on technology solutions.
    • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of IT projects, including upgrades and migrations.
  4. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate documentation of client systems, configurations, and procedures.
    • Generate regular reports on system performance, incident resolution, and other relevant metrics.
  5. Vendor Management
    • Interface with third-party vendors to coordinate hardware and software procurement, as well as warranty support.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance client IT environments.
  6. Training and Knowledge Sharing
    • Provide training to end-users on IT best practices and use of systems.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and share knowledge within the team.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an MSP environment.
  • Strong proficiency in networking, system administration, and IT security.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or relevant vendor certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
