Each year Citizens Connected provides scholarships to local youth. New this year, we are continuing our efforts to support the communities we serve by offering continued education scholarships for adults looking to further their education.
Each year 2 high school students have a chance to travel to our Nation's Capital for five days to learn about legislative and agency processes and the important role of broadband services in rural communities. All expenses paid by Citizens Connected.
Citizens Connected proudly donates each year to 501(c)(3) charities and organizations.
Since 1990, Citizens has given over $150,000 in Scholarships to area high school graduates whose parents, guardians, or foster parents are members of the Cooperative.
In addition to Citizens own scholarships, they also offer several opportunities from their memberships in the State & National Telecommunications Associations.
Available Scholarships:
Citizens Connected Scholarships Deadline: April 22, 2024
Foundation for Rural Services (FRS) Scholarships Deadline: February 16, 2024
WI State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTA) Scholarships Deadline: February 10, 2024
For the past several years, two area juniors were chosen to represent Citizens at the annual Foundation for Rural Services Youth Tour held in Washington DC.
This tour allows students to get a glimpse of the US' history as well as gather information regarding the telecommunications industry and legislative system.
